ABOUT US

Sue Smithson is an active rider / competitor, freelance journalist, and a USEF R-rated dressage judge, an R-rated eventing judge, and r-eventing TD. She managed her first schooling show in 1974, and her first nationally recognized event in 1976.

Buck Smithson evented through the Open Preliminary level, and is now an active volleyball and USSF Grade 8 soccer referee. He helps organize shows, and works as head scorer and chief of set-up / breakdown. In real life, Buck works at Smithson of Southern Pines, a quilting plant specializing in high end custom bedspreads and window treatments.

All horse show secretarial work is subcontracted to Martie Healy of Equestrian Secretarial Services, Gainesville, Florida. Martie has over 20 years experience organizing, managing, and secretarying horse shows of all disciplines, including dressage, horse trials, hunters and jumpers and combined driving events. Her Basingstoke Web Designs specializes is equestrian web sites, including the North Carolina Hunter-Jumper Association, and the North Carolina Dressage and Combined Training Association.
